This spring, crews completed a partial roof replacement over the telecommuni-cation giants data centre in Toronto, marking the completion of a unique three-year initiative. This is a very distinct project, says Frank Anastasopoulos, Project Director with OIRCA Con-sultant Member TSS Building Science Inc., the main consultant for the project. Data centres are extremely sensitive. This was Rogers primary data centre that many people relied on for work, online learning and personal communication. The project began when Rogers experienced an incident that caused the organization to explore how it might better shield its sensitive data equipment from possible weather events. The company reached out to its long-time partners at TSS Building Science for potential solutions, after which OIRCA Active Member Specified Roofing Contractors Inc. was brought in to realize TSSs designs. It was a flagship initiative for Rogers, says Brett Gamble, General Manager with Specified Roofing, another long-time contracting partner with Rogers.
