Held from June 6 to 10, the online campaign invited members and industry partners to share their stories, successes and community initiatives through social media channels in a bid to promote the roofing trade and the opportunities within.The reason we brought the NRCAs (National Roofing Con-tractors Association) concept to Canada was to get people more aware of what goes on in this sector and show how you can make a great career in it, either on the jobsite, in a management po-sition or elsewhere, says Troy Ferreira, Technical Director with the CRCA and lead organizer for this years event. Its especially important that we get that message out to the younger generation through social media because theyre the ones who will keep this sector thriving.Thecampaignencouragedroofingindustrystakeholdersto post photos, videos and stories to their online accounts (e.g., Face-book, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, etc.). To help, CRCA supplied a package of media cards, National Roofing Week posters, media communication templates and other campaign resources.The event was split over five themed days, including:June 6: Signature Projects, showcasing notable industrial, commercial or institutional roofing jobs.June 7: Charitable Projects/Events, highlighting the many ways roofing companies are giving back to their local com-munities through donations, sponsorships or participation Rogers Communications Reroof in Toronto. in charitable events.
