Ahead, we catch up with the recent Indspire Award recipient to learn more about his passions and ever-evolving journey.In addition to being a renowned fiddle player, you also teach music. What inspires you to teach young Indigenous musicians?Working with the youth is very meaningful, challenging, engaging and so rewarding. One of the chal-lenges is many youth I teach live in rural or remote settings, so it can be difficult to travel the distance to get to them. And then, its always hard teaching students fiddle in the beginning because its usually their first experience learning a musical instrument or their first experience having music education. The confidence isnt always there at the start, and they get intimidated by it. But as time goes on, they become more comfortable with the instru-ment and see it as a fun challenge. 14indspiration2022'
