ADVOCACY AND INDUSTRY PRACTICESBeyond a new strategic plan, MCA Canada continues to work diligently with federal ad-vocacy initiatives and industry practices issues for the mechanical contracting sector. On the advocacy front, MCA Canada is now waiting on new mandate letters from the recently elected government and will continue to impress on MPs the importance of the skilled trades, retrofits in the built environment, and the need for predictable and long-term work for the industry. At the same time, MCA Canada continues to remind government officials of the issues the industry is facing with respect to supply chain and price volatility. The message from MCA Canada has been simple throughout the pandemic, the federal election, and into the future: a strong and vibrant mechanical contracting sector is critical to a healthy economy and the health and safety of Canadians.Regarding industry practices, MCA Canada is expecting the completion of a new Guide to Changes, which will be shared at its fall board meeting. The association was pleased to have representation on this task force from across Canada, with members providing their knowl-edge and expertise to this important document.
