b'First Nations Election Priorities, which focussed on key issues and priorities for First Nations in Ontario, was developed and further refined during the October session. This document, which outlines the key socio-economic priorities for First Nations in Ontario such as Treaty Implementation, Infra-structure, Health and Well-Being, Uplifting First Nations Women and implementing the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls National Inquirys Calls to Justice, stemmed from numerous discussions with leadership and resolutions passed at previous All Ontario Chiefs Conferences and Special Chiefs Assemblies. The docu-ment was released prior to the federal election as a resource for all political parties to reflect on their own prior-ities and their commitment towards a new relationship with First Nations people in Canada. As the Chiefs of Ontario prepare for 2020-2021 and work to imple-ment their priorities alongside a newly-elected federal government, they hope to see all levels of govern-ment reflect on the Towards a New Relationship document. This is a real opportunity to create and imple-ment a First Nations-led approach to tackling some of these long-standing priorities for First Nations in the Ontario region.ISSUE 2 2019/20C hIEfS ofo ntarIoA dvocAte magazInE l 15'
