Crews had to ensure that incoming helicopters didnt cause stray debris to fly around, so all garbage bins had lids on them that were closed when the helicopter came in. If we happened to have any cranes on-site, he adds, the flight path for the helicopter was right there, so regardless of where we were in the build, we had to plan ahead for that. Then a NOTAM (notice to airmen) would be issued to make sure that should the helicopter come into the area, they were aware of the cranes.
