b"Message from the PRESIDENT CHANGING THENARRATIVEDebra Vermette I t is with great pride that as ONWAs President I am able to celebrate the associa-tions Golden Anniversary, 50 years of Indigenous womens work. We have come President, ONWA together with great strength and resiliency and we know that the next 50 years will be our time to shine. We have witnessed the love and kindness with which Indigenous women lead. We also onwa.ca know that there is still much to be done and it will take the women that come after us to continue the work.@ONWA7@_ONWA_ Changing the narrative of Indigenous womens lives is critical and has been a long-standing priority for Indigenous womens organizations such as ONWA. It has been @onwa_official through the hard work and dedication of many strong women that we continue to tell the stories that impact Indigenous womens lives. As we embark on the next 50 years for ONWA, we remain focused on the voices of the young women who need change, for themselves, their families and their commun-ities. We are dedicated to listening to what they have to say about what they need to make their world safer. ONWA recognizes the strength of Indigenous womens voices, and we know that they carry the solution to what is needed in their lives. The women featured in this issue all carry the message that it is time for change for Indigenous women and it is our voices that will make a difference. Wherever it is you choose to make a stand, do so with confidence, with clarity, with truth, and know that you are not alone.DebraVermet tePublished by: CONTRIBUTING EDITORPRESIDENTAll rights reserved.Ingrid Green Kevin Brown The contentsof this is published for Ontario Nativepublication may not beEDITORSENIOR VICE PRESIDENTreproduced by any means, in Women's Associationwww.mediaedgepublishing.com Roma Ihnatowycz Robert Thompson whole or in part, without the NATIONAL SALES EXECUTIVESDIRECTOR, prior written consent of the 33 South Station StreetBUSINESS DEVELOPMENTassociation.Toronto, OntarioM9N 2B2Brenda Ezinicki, April Hawkes, Michael BellToll Free: 1-866-480-4717Nolan Ackman, Pat Johnston,She is Wise is printed robertt@mediaedge.ca Ashley Huston BRANCH MANAGERon 10% post-consumer FSC P.O.
