b'WCA NEWSPARKWEST SUPPORTS STARS AND MOREParkwest Projects is also a strong supporter of the Ronald McDonald House Charity, as an annual sponsor of a guest room. Funds are raised through a silent auction that we host with our staff, explains Tyler Clegg, Business Manager for Parkwest Projects. The funds raised by our staff are matched 100 per cent by the company. At last years pre-COVID auction, the team combined the fundraiser with a barbecue and easily hit their goal. This year, due to COVID-19, Parkwest held a virtual silent auction and ended up raising 50 per cent more than last years total, enabling the contractor to give back to another critical initiativeSTARS Air Ambulance. While we havent had to use it and hope we never do, we often work in rural communities, so a service like STARS is very important to us, Clegg says.FILL ER UP!Parkwest Projects has had the fortunate opportunity to work with Co-op on several projects over the last couple of years. This year on Co-ops Fuel Good Day, they rallied their fleet of trucks and convoyed to the nearest gas bar for fuel. Jobsites around the province also brought their trucks (and equipment!) to the Co-op to top up and support their cause.SHARE HOW YOU CARE!In our ongoing discussions with government, wewant to provide examples of all the great work construction companies are doing to improve their community and show corporate social responsibility (for example, at WCA we love to do a Habitat for Humanity build every year). Please email darryl@winnipegconstruction.ca with examples of how you and your organization give back to the community. The construction industry has a lot to be proud of. Lets continue to showcase it!Issue 2 Summer Edition 2021 BUILD MANITOBA 13'
