b'ROYAL AVIATION MUSEUM OF WESTERN CANADA The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada is a new signature museum designed to celebrate technical innovation and the aviation heritage of Western Canada. A world-class aviation-based destination attraction, the new museum is located on the campus of Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport. The new museum will inspire, educate and entertain, allowing visitors to imagine themselves experiencing the adventure of flight.CURB APPEAL: AN ARCHITECTURAL AERODYNAMIC FAADEThe new building, designed by architects Reich+Petch Design International and Architecture49, has an aerodynamic faade inspired by the grace of an aircraft wing. A stylized hangar, the museum will provide soaring views of the collection from its mezzanine and out to the adjacent airport runways from its Observation Lounge. The building sits prominently on the main exit road of the airport, with an aviation plaza to showcase aircrafts and host special events.TREND: STEM LEARNINGGalleries will focus on STEM learning for a family audience, highlighting innovation, the scientific principles of flight and the influential and exhilarating history of aviation inWestern Canada.With the creative use of scrims and set decoration, the aircraft will be placed in contexts that tell a story, transport visitors to another place and time, and celebrate people and technology.Each environment creates a stronger, more memorable visitor experience and builds emotion around the aircraft.
