b'FACTS & FIGURESFACTS & FIGURESMANITOBA BUILDING PERMITS SEPTEMBER 2022According to Statistics Canada, building permit numbers through September 2022 are down 1.6 per cent compared to the same time period last year. Commercial building permits are up more than 20 per cent compared to last year, while institutional permits are down just over 30 per cent and industrial permits are up about three per cent. This nets out to an increase of over three per cent on the non-residential side. Residential permits are down nearly five per cent compared to the same time period in 2021.
