Recalls Lanthier: After one of our Imagine training sessions, a team member went back to her home and found a solution to alleviate the boredom that one of the residents was experiencing. She offered the resident, a retired nurse, the opportunity to become a hand hygiene ambassador, and she now sits outside of the dining room every day to give residents their hand sanitizer before meals. She is engaged in the life of the home and making a contribution that is very meaningful to her.Deborah DiMauro, Vice President of Ontario Long-Term Care at AgeCare, recalls staff asking a younger resident at an AgeCare home to be their Imagine program ambassador. He has such an amazing energy, and his involvement has made a difference for himself and the home, she says.
