b'MESSAGE FROM THE ONTARIO REGIONAL CHIEFFirst Nation-led partnerships and prosperity initiativesGLEN HARE Ontario Regional ChiefA anii, Boozhoo, Kwekwe, Shekoli, Sekoh, Waachiyaa! It is with great pride that I welcome you to another edition of the Chiefs of Ontario official magazine, Advocate. I would like to extend my regards to our readers, authors, editors and all those who have donated their time in ensuring this edition is a success. In this edition of Advocate, you will find compelling articles on community-led economic development and long-term prosperity initiatives that uplift First Nation communities in Ontario and ensure First Nations have the opportunities to thrive and be successful on a local, regional, national and global level. These stories are essential; as the original stewards of the land, First Nations must be meaningful partners in Ontarios economy through First Nation-based economic projects and partnerships. This includes ensuring an equitable post-pandemic recovery through COVID-19 economic stimulus funding and examining the legislative and policy barriers that have negatively impacted First Nations economic growth and prosperity. As Ontario Regional Chief, the health, well-being and prosperity of First Nation citizens and their communities remain a top priority. I look forward to continuing our important work in advancing our communities through proper collaboration and consultation with all levels of government. I also look forward to ensuring the full implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions Calls to Action, with dedicated support to ensure proper resources are allocated to Survivors, families and their communities to commemorate and honour any individuals discovered through the investigation. As we enter this new phase of recovery, we hope this edition of Advocate can be a source of information for communities.10l I ssue2 2021/22C hIefs ofo ntarIoA dvocAte magazIne'
