On the final day of the event, COO Economic Development Director Arvind Sharma provided a Prosperity Table update, followed by a Data and Research Sector update from Chief Shelly Moore-Frappier, chair of the Data Champion Advisory Committee. Hon. Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada, finished off the morning with a discussion of current initiatives, policy updates and upcoming opportunities for collaboration. The assembly concluded that afternoon with a closing prayer and ceremony.The Fall Chiefs Assembly provided First Nations leadership, technicians, organizations and government representatives a chance to engage in informative and collaborative information sessions on topics and issues impacting First Nations peoples in Ontario. With the 50th anniversary of the Chiefs of Ontario approaching next year, the assembly also offered a moment to reflect on the organizations enduring commitment to advocacy and unity. As COO looks to celebrate this milestone, it remains dedicated to honouring the achievements of First Nations leadership.
