According to a Government of Manitoba release, the project will: Provide for the on-site provision ofpalliative and end-of-life care, chronic and cardiopulmonary disease and womens health; Include pharmacy upgrades that supportthe delivery of chemotherapy services and establish Bethesda as a regional hub for cancer services; and Allow for the construction of six dialysisstations to establish renal services for the community and surrounding area.For contractors, the greatest challenge involved is the fact that the site is situated in a very tight spotin the middle of a residential area within a busy city. The only space we had available to construct this expansion was where the staff parking lot sits, immediately behind the hospital, explains MacNair. So our first step actually had to be to build a new staff parking lot. Three residential properties were acquired and the housing [was] removed to facilitate the parking needs alone.
