To encourage participation, CRCA once again provided a range of promotional resources, includ- ing downloadable graphics, logos and campaign materials designed to help organizations engage with the initiative. Participants were also encouraged to tag their social media posts with #RoofingWeekCanada and #RoofingCanada to connect members and create a stronger digi- tal presence. Clicking with Canadians The Ontario Industrial Roofing Contractors Association (OIRCA) was among CRCA’s industry allies to continue the annual tradition. “The week was a unique oppor- tunity to raise awareness of the sig- nificance of roofs to every Canadian business and home and, for OIR- CA in particular, the industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) sector of the roofing industry,” says Don Marks, OIRCA executive director, noting the initiative has become an important tool for pro- moting the importance of hiring a professional roofing contractor, “which aligns with OIRCA’s mis- sion and vision.” More importantly, he adds, the campaign also helps promote roof- ing as a rewarding career path at a time when workforce shortages con- tinue to challenge many construc- tion trades. “Roofing has become a highly skilled trade largely due to advancements in building envelope technology,” he says. “Hopefully, this annual social media campaign Continued from page 1. will reach individuals looking for a dynamic and rewarding career path, because a career in roofing contract- ing will not disappoint.” OIRCA has been a regular partic- ipant in the week-long online event since it came to Canada. Reflecting on the success of this year’s event, Marks says, “We were happy to see many OIRCA members participat- ing during National Roofing Week, particularly from companies like our newest member, Stybek Roofing Limited of Kitchener, which was actively posting each day.” Building Awareness National Roofing Week 2026 marked the campaign’s sixth year of providing the industry with a platform to showcase its work, recognize its people and promote the professionalism that drives Canada’s roofing sector forward. With strong engagement from both participants and their online audiences, the campaign continues to demonstrate its value as a tool for raising awareness and strength- ening industry pride. As a result, CRCA is eager to continue the an- nual tradition. “We’re thankful to everyone who took part this year,” says Forgues. “This initiative is a continuous reflection of our commitment to strengthening the industry through workforce development, safety and member support.” Roofing Week Goals National Roofing Week was launched by CRCA in 2020 following the success of the National Roofing Contractors Association’s (NRCA’s) National Roofing Week campaign in the United States. The campaign’s three main objectives are to: 1. Raise awareness of the importance of roofing systems in protecting buildings, infrastructure and communities. 2. Promote careers in roofing and the skilled trades, including roofing’s status as a Red Seal trade. 3. Promote the value of hiring qualified roofing professionals committed to safety, quality workmanship and industry best practices.
