The Palais des congrès de Montréal offers multipurpose

“Underground City,” the land for Palais des congrès was 
once a part of Montréal’s Chinatown, along with the 
building of the Guy-Favreau Complex. The centre was 
expanded in 2002, doubling its capacity from 990,000 sq. 
ft. to 1,980,000 sq. ft.

CONVENTION CENTRE
With over 120,000 sq. ft. of flexible event space in the 
heart of downtown Halifax, the Halifax Convention Centre 
is ready to host any event imaginable. Its versatile and 
flexible event spaces offer solutions for any size or type 
of event, from meetings and exhibitions to trade shows 
and conferences. It includes over 120,000 sq. ft. of 
flexible event space – including a 30,000-sq.-ft. ballroom 
overlooking the city. 
In addition, 50,000 sq. ft. of multipurpose convention 
space and 40,000 sq. ft. for more intimate gatherings are 
all available. HCC also features the ability to separate into 
two independent convention levels, allowing for privacy 
and optimal traffic flow during multiple events. It features 
a bright and iconic atrium arrival area and natural light 
throughout most of the facility. LEED status was granted 
from the Canada Green Building Council in 2020, as well 
as the Gold Standard from the AIPC Quality Standards 
Program in the same year.
