GOLF RESORTS Choosing Golf Sites for Corporate Events Golf resorts prove to be a popular location for corporate events, allowing groups to combine connections and get- togethers with the bonus of a day on the links. Organizing corporate events at golf resorts is about finding the right location that provides all the services needed to meet planners’ expectations and make the event enjoyable for the attendees. These events are about networking with valuable contacts inside and outside of a company or organization while enjoying a relaxing day on the course. CM&E has reviewed five Canadian golf resorts that provide corporate events. Here is what we learned: FAIRMONT JASPER PARK LODGE GOLF CLUB Jasper, AB The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Golf Club is located on Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge property in Jasper, Alta., 288 kilometres northwest of Banff and 393 kilometres from Calgary. The club offers a historic Stanley Thompson course that has been in place for over 100 years. In the middle of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, the course is a challenging track with “natural contours and panoramic mountain views.” The Lodge Golf Club has been hosting golf events for corporate groups for decades. The club can handle groups of 16 guests or more, with golf packages that include everything from cart setup and club cleaning to unlimited range balls and overnight club storage. The package for each event can include gift boxes containing a hat, golf balls, divot tools and ball markers. Rooms and other required services can be accessed through the Jasper Park Lodge based on availability. The club also offers an indoor golf experience in the Bear’s Den. Located in the clubhouse, Bear’s Den includes a simulator with access to more than 200 internationally acclaimed courses at an hourly rate. The clubhouse and course also have a number of locations offering drinks and snacks.
