b'FROM OUR CHAIRMoving ForwardWhile we all hope that were on the other side of the pandemic, were not completely out of the woods yet. Despite many people in Manitoba having received their second vaccinationwith more than 75 per cent of eligible Manitobans fully vaccinated and more than 82 per cent with at least one dosewe are still hearing concerns about a fourth wave this fall. The country, our province and the construction landscape continue to adjust as we navigate the impact of COVID-19. While major events have been cancelled, projects have been paused and best practices, health orders and government programs have changed the way we do business, the construction industry has overcome many obstacles and continues to operate. As an association, we continue to provide much-needed information to our membershundreds of contractors, manufacturers and suppliers who are working tirelessly and safely during the pandemic. And as we move towards a more vaccinated Manitoba, we look forward to planning and hosting many of our popular and well-attended WCA events, like Builders Night, the Chairs Reception and Spring Golf. While getting vaccinated is a small way we can protect our community, ourselves and our businesses, it can also get you in the door or on the guest list at our upcoming events. Well continue to follow public health orders as well as the rules and requirements of our partner establishments when hosting activities and evening events. Our functions may look a little different and scaled down in size, with a mask mandate and requirement to be double vaccinated, but were hoping to provide you with a safe and enjoyable opportunity to connect with your friends and colleagues in the industry.Stay tuned to our website at winnipegconstruction.ca for event announcements and updates. On behalf of the staff at WCA and our Board of Directors, I want to thank you for your efforts and continued support. We hope to see you at one of our events soon! John Enns, ChairIssue 3 Fall Edition 2021 BUILD MANITOBA 7'
