b'FROM OUR PRESIDENTBack to Class this FallFinally, the light at the end of the tunnel! After a long winter and spring, we are starting to see positive signs of our community coming out from under this pandemic cloud. Its been refreshing to get excited about a return to (some form of) normalcy in one of our key services at WCAour education programming. Planning our docket of education sessions for the upcoming year is always a big deal for us, and Peggy and her team do a great job of putting this together. This year, were proud to roll out our growing list of course offerings so that you can start planning for the months ahead. Keep an eye out for our new 2021-22 Education Program guide in your mailbox and online at winnipegconstruction.ca/education. You can expect all your favourite sessions and a few new courses designed for our ever-changing industry and environment.A trend we are seeing in the construction marketplace is the significant price increases or shortages of building products and serious delays in the delivery of basic construction staples (why is it so hard to get hollow metal doors and frames these days?). These unfortunate realities offer opportunities for you and your employees through our education programming. All our members are being challenged to build smarter, be more organized and be innovative in project delivery to deal with these issues and ultimately mitigate the higher costs of construction. Productivity, scheduling, safety and project management are key themes in our program that will help you to deal with these market challenges. We have also expanded our physical training space to accommodate students in a socially distanced classroom (check out page 18-19 for the full report). Over the past few months, we have increased our classroom space and added new individual tables to our existing classrooms. These changes will let both WCA and CSAM deliver training safely and comfortably at the same time. We look forward to your participation in our education programming this fall and wintereither virtually or in our new classroom space! We are confident we can deliver this ambitious and exciting program in a very safe and comfortable manner. If you have any comments or questions, please give us a call at WCAwere always happy to chat.Good luck this fall, Ronald Hambley, President8 BUILD MANITOBAwinnipegconstruction.ca'
