b'SHE IS INDIGENOUSbeginning is we got the chance to fly from coast to coast and meet these women to hear their stories in person, says Fitzgerald. For example, we spoke to Donna May Kimmaliardjuk, who is Canadas first Inuk resident heart surgeon at the University of Ottawa. She was nominated by her mother and seeing them together in the campaign is really wonderful.CROSS-COUNTRY REACHThe campaign has since expanded to include written profiles with pictures that are shared with thousands of online followers within the She is Indigenous online network.
