those people that make the local associations tick and seeing what they are doing and how they are approaching the different issues they face was eye opening. I wouldn’t have been able to experience this if not for my time at MCAC. The many great people I have met and made friends with is the ultimate reward. Pretty much where- ever I go in Canada now, I will know some very fine folks that I will be able to stop and visit with. We really have a lot of exceptional people who are in our industry. I am very proud to be part of this industry as a result.” A true testament of the value of membership in the MCAS is the fact that we have many long-term members. Thorpe Brothers Ltd. in Prince Albert began operations in 1946. Mid City Plumbing and Heating Inc. opened its doors in 1966 to provide service in the Estevan area of the province. C & E Mechanical Inc. celebrated their 60th anniversary in December of 2018. One of the plumbing shops that was registered for the first convention was Moose Jaw Plumbing and Heating Company Ltd. The shop first opened in 1905 and was founded by Mr. W.B. Hawke. He eventually sold the shop to Hans Schneider in 1975. The shop celebrated its 100th year in 2005 and up until its closing, they held continuous membership in MCA Saskatchewan. In every corner of the province you can find a member of MCAS, and as we move into the next 100 years our Association will continue to encourage, support and promote the advancement of the mechanical contracting industry. And we will remain Industry Focused, Member Driven. Trade show, 1985 Trade show, 1985 MCAS report at the 1964 National Convention 15 A Century in Review MCAS COVER
