T raining and Education have long been considered one of the pillars of MCA Saskatchewan. With courses ranging from HVAC to Dispatcher Training to Succession Planning, our edu- cation philosophy has remained the same: offer relevant training to our members and the mechanical contracting industry throughout the province. WHY SEND YOUR EMPLOYEES FOR TRAINING? Research suggests that sending your staff for additional training provides them with increased job satisfaction and motivation. That results in more efficient, productive employees, with the edge of an increased capacity to adopt new technologies and methods; all critically important to meet the demands of a growing province. Young people entering the workforce want continuous training to keep their skill sets current, and training opportunities by MCAS allow new and current staff access to those skills. EDUCATION COMMITTEE Luc Kadziolka chairs the MCAS Education Committee. As owner of Mr. Plumber in Prince Albert, SK, he knows firsthand the value of the educational offerings provided by MCAS. “We always believed MCAS SUPPORTS POST-JOURNEYPERSON TRAINING NEVER STOP LEARNING in ongoing training, and prior to my involvement with the MCAS, was never able to find affordable, quality and trade specific training for my employees. Through the availability of MCAS training programs, we have been able to offer our employees the training required to keep us up-to-date and become industry leaders in our community,” he explains. Nathan Bassey, District Sales Manager of Crane Supply, is the newest member of the education committee. He brings a differ- ent perspective to the committee as an affiliate member of the association. “As a member I am very excited to see that there is a committee formed to make decisions on what matters to us as a whole, with the group taking time from their day-to-day schedules, engaging with thoughts as representatives to bring content that both interests and matters to us all. When we work toward a com- mon goal it will help us to strengthen our industries going forward and build greater opportunity for years to come,” he says. THERE’S MORE THAN ONE TYPE OF SKILL MCAS has developed a number of in-house technical training courses designed specifically for the mechanical trades and have 26 MCAS www.mca-sask.com EDUCATION
