In 1968, Canature WaterGroup (CWG) began manufac- turing and selling water softening systems in Regina, Saskatchewan. CWG Founder and CEO, Don Fettes, recognized then that water conditioning was a good way for plumbing professionals to grow their business. Rather than always fixing plumbing or mechanical failures caused by problem water, plumbers could help their customers “fix the water that broke it.” While much has changed over five decades, three things have remained remarkably the same at CWG: the company’s focus on providing customers with excep- tional value, its industry leading customer support, and its innovative, superior quality water conditioning prod- ucts. Today, CWG is an international company selling water softeners, filters, reverse osmosis, and ultraviolet residential and commercial water conditioning systems across North America. Its professional plumbing line of products are sold under the Novo and WaterGroup brands. Over the years, CWG has contributed back to the community by raising money for the Children’s Wish Foundation, MS Bike & Walk, and local charitable causes. CWG employees are also involved in the water conditioning industry with representation on both the regional and national Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating (CIPH) boards as well as the Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors Association – Ontario Trades Association board. CWG is a proud member of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada and the Mechanical Contractors Association of Saskatchewan. A family in Saskatoon received a warm gift for Thanksgiving. Thanks to the Feel the Love pro- gram a deserving family received a new furnace just before winter. Homeowners in need of a helping hand are nominated to receive a new, high-efficiency Lennox furnace with an install completed by a Lennox HVAC dealer. Ball & Sons Heating Company Limited completed the install, with two of their technicians donating their time on Thanksgiving weekend to install the furnace. “Our motto is neighbours helping neighbours, and really as the companies that are helping out, it’s about giving back to the community,” says Lennox Industries Territory Manager Cam Yelenik. Both companies plan to continue their support of the Feel the Love program into 2019. Albert Einstein said if he could do it all again, he would be a plumber. 33 A Century in Review MCAS COMMUNITY
