Congratulations to the Mechanical Contractors Association of Saskatchewan for its 100 years of providing support and service to the Plumbing and Heating Industry in Saskatchewan. Since its inception in 1919 the MCAS has always stayed the course and stayed true to its commitment to not only its members but the public as well. The make-up of the association has changed to now include plumbers, steamfitters/pipefitters, sheet metal journeypersons and refrigeration mechanics. Saskatchewan joined Confederation in 1905 when it was created out of a section of the Northwest Territories. Only a few short years later, the first meeting of the Saskatchewan Society of Sanitary and Heating Engineers was held. Though the name has changed, the values and the mission of the association have not. To celebrate such a significant milestone is a true testimonial of an organization’s value expressed through its integrity and Code of Ethics on how service should be provided to the public by our industry. Every member is held to the same standard and we take pride belonging to an association that raises the bar in the industry. Members are expected to abide by our strict Code of Ethics of which the first line states: “Members of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Saskatch- ewan believe that business standards of a high order are essential to progress and will better qualify us to service society, our industry and Members of the Association shall promote fairness in dealing with their employees, treating them with respect and assisting and encouraging their intellectual and skill development.” Past and present, the MCAS has been a leader and a voice for our industry and its membership. By providing support through training and educating both members and the public on industry issues, the MCAS has always made the industry and our customers its main priority. The MCAS is an Association made up of contractors working for contractors, the industry and the public. Thank you, MCAS, for all the work that you do to help us improve as contractors and as an industry to better serve the public.
