Scott. Ces types d’événements peuvent ne sont pas toujours productifs, car nous sommes en concurrence avec d’autres métiers, souvent considérés comme plus séduisants, comme l’électricité, la mécanique et la menuiserie. » Éliminer les obstacles Sur la côte ouest, la Roofing Contractors Association of British Columbia (RCABC) s’efforce de réduire les obstacles finan- ciers à l’apprentissage. « Nous complétons le financement de SkilledTradesBC pour la formation en apprentissage », explique Bryan Wallner, PDG de la RCABC. « Les revenus du programme de garantie RoofStar de la RCABC sont réinvestis Wallner, CEO of RCABC. “In 2025, we subsidized training delivery for almost 400 apprentice technical training seats and awarded $175,000 in bursaries to help apprentices attend training at the RCABC Training Centre as they progressed toward provincial trade qualification and national Red Seal Endorsement.” RCABC also offers pre-apprenticeship programs that connect youth and people in marginalized groups, including women, newcomers to Canada and Indigenous people. These programs help demonstrate that the industry offers rewarding, lucrative careers and entrepreneurial opportunities. “We also ensure the availability of technical training seats to support the province’s dual-credit high school programs, which allow students to pursue an apprenticeship while still in high school,” Wallner adds. Additionally, RCABC helped sponsor the BC Construction Association’s Builders Life campaign, launched in 2022 to increase apprentice registrations. “To tie into that campaign, we delivered a social media strategy that promoted real-life career success stories and member projects to demonstrate the fulfilling and diverse career paths that exist,” Wallner explains. “We also conducted workshops with provincial and federal government resources to provide members with up-to- date information on hiring foreign workers and accessing the JANUARY 19 & 20, 2027 | TORONTO THE INTERNATIONAL CENTRE, HALL 5 for Canada’s only dedicated sourcing and education forum on all aspects of ICI roofing systems & technologies.
