MANITOBA BUILDING PERMITS DECEMBER 2025 According to Statistics Canada, building permit numbers for 2025 were down 2.6 per cent compared to 2024, with that drop coming entirely from the non-residential side. Commercial building permits were up over nine per cent in 2025 compared to 2024, while institutional building permits were down 54 per cent and industrial permits decreased by about 37 per cent. The non-residential side as a whole was down nearly 27 per cent compared to 2024. Residential permits in 2025 were up almost 20 per cent compared to 2024. Multiple residential permits increased by almost 17 per cent, while single-family residential permits were up 23 per cent compared to last year.
