IMPACT BUILDERS
Tyler Katchnoski – he knew he was in
the right place with the right people to
give business leadership another go.
After years of chipping away at addiction
recovery, he formed Carvd Construction.
STACKING THE DECK
Carvd Construction started small after
Gerhard had been asked to gather
a crew and build a modest deck for
Harris Builders, a residential home
renovator. “The three of us shared one
set of DeWalt tools and built that deck,”
Reddecopp recalls.
Their quick and reliable work grabbed
the attention of Eton Harris, who offered
the trio an opportunity to become a part
of the company’s renovation team. “For
some reason, he took a liking to us,”
Reddecopp says. “We got a check for
seven grand to buy the right tools, and
that made a way for us to start.”
The projects piled on. Through Harris
Builders, Reddecopp and his team took
on increasingly complex renovations,
culminating in a major renovation at a
house on Wellington Crescent. It was the

rang with an invitation to go build that

where everything really started,”
Reddecopp recalls. “I was living in a
sober living house with 14 gentlemen,
seven of whom didn’t have jobs. I knew
how important it was for me to have
something to be a part of, so I asked
those guys if they wanted to go to work,
and five of them raised their hands.”
From here, the vision for Carvd fell into
place. “I remember thinking maybe this
is what I’m supposed to be doing.
I understand addiction better than most.
I’ve lived it, and it would be a shame
if I didn’t use that and share that with
people who maybe don’t have the
money or privilege I did to get
through it.”
EARLY YEARS
Carvd’s first few years were spent
taking on “all the little stuff that nobody
wanted to do.” Years later, the mantra
remains the same: “Find what these big
companies need, where their pain points
are, and build around them.” Over the
years, this model has made Carvd the
