Steady Leadership
Attention to Detail
Before training or
events, Ron noticed
everything: Is the mic
loud enough? Is it cold in
here? Even chair comfort
mattered to him. He
genuinely cared about
people having a good
experience.
Strategic Vision
Ron could dream
big while still noticing
the smallest details. He
understood the industry,
spotted things others
missed and was always
open to trying something
unique – as long as it
was done well.

Practical Advisor
Ron was always
looking out for us –
making sure we were
making smart investments,
not overpaying for health
benefits and offering
thoughtful, practical
advice whenever we
needed it.
I moved to Canada
by myself when I was 18
years old. While I was
working hard to build a
life in a new country, WCA
gave me a sense of home
away from home. Ron was
always willing to help with
the countless government
applications and anything
else I needed. Whenever
I told him I was travelling
across the world to visit
my family, he would joke
that I should make sure to
come back. And I always
did. Ron, as a great boss
and mentor, played a
huge part in that.
When I first started
24 years ago, someone
came out of a boardroom
meeting upset, lit a
cigarette at my desk, and
left. Shortly after, Ron
came out and quietly
asked, ‘Holly, are you
okay?’ That small moment
stayed with me. Fast
forward 24 years, and
when Ron announced his
retirement, he looked at
me again and asked the
very same thing: ‘Holly,
are you okay?’ Over the
years, that same steady,
supportive presence has
remained constant. Ron
leads with a quiet kind of
care and awareness, even
in the middle of chaos or
high-pressure situations.
That’s who Ron is.
