Looking through this issue of Build Manitoba, one theme stood out repeatedly: longevity. Not simply years in business, but the people, 
relationships and values that allow companies and leaders to endure through decades of change.
This issue celebrates several WCA member companies reaching significant milestones – 10, 25, 40, 50 and even 100 years in 
business. While their stories are all different, they share common threads: hard work, adaptability, mentorship, resilience and a 
commitment to doing quality work.
In construction, longevity is never accidental. No company reaches these milestones without people who are willing to lead through 
uncertainty, invest in relationships, embrace change and continuously pass knowledge forward to the next generation. Buildings may 
shape our skylines, but it is people who shape this industry.
That is also what makes this issue particularly meaningful as we recognize Ron Hambley’s retirement. For many within Manitoba’s 
construction community, Ron has been more than a leader at WCA – he has been a connector, advocate and champion for the 
industry. His impact can be seen not only in industry progress and initiatives, but in the relationships he built over decades of service. 
Ron leaves a legacy with his work and leadership in the Manitoba construction landscape. Ron’s contribution to the industry is beyond 
reproach, and he will leave the WCA in a position of strength for years to come.
Industries evolve. Leadership changes. New technologies emerge. Yet, the strongest organizations continue to understand something 
fundamental: lasting success is built over time, project by project and relationship by relationship.
As we celebrate these milestones and reflect on Ron’s contributions, we are also reminded of the responsibility all of us share in 
shaping what comes next. The future of Manitoba’s construction industry will be built by those willing to invest not only in projects, but 
in people.
And, judging by the stories in this issue, that future is in very good hands.
