26 BUILD MANITOBA winnipegconstruction.ca IMPACT BUILDERS first call for a growing list of builders across the city, including Harris Builders, which remains its champion and client. “Being trusted by Harris has opened so many doors,” Reddecopp says. “We owe so incredibly much to them.” The respect is mutual, says Andrew Moffatt, senior site manager at Harris Builders. “They’re great guys to work with. They’re fair on their pricing, they’re malleable to whatever environment they’re put in, and we know we can call them and they’ll show up in a half hour ready to do what we need.” It helps, says Moffatt, that their companies’ values align: “We really believe in these guys. They have a great vision, a very good story, and they are unapologetically humble with where they came from.” Carvd and Harris’s partnership has evolved since that single deck. Today, a dedicated Carvd crew is working with Harris Builders on one of the largest single-family residential renovations the city has ever seen. “That’s amazing,” says Reddecopp. “It says a lot about how far we’ve come.” JERAMY’S STORY Reputation is everything for Carvd Construction. For Reddecopp, it takes daily effort and mentorship to build a team he can trust: “We’ve operated for four years, and I’ve never had a screwdriver go missing, and I’ve never had an incident on site, because what I have found is these people feel so loved and seen that even when they fail, they still never give me a headache.” Maintaining the team isn’t easy. “For over four years, we’ve hired close to 200 people and provided them a safe place to be,” Reddecopp says. “We’ve lost a number of those to addiction, but we also have many who are clean today. That’s not nothing.” Case in point is Jeramy Grey, who came to Carvd after years of setbacks due to addiction. Like Reddecopp, he too had hit “rock bottom,” but poured himself into the work, pushing through relapses to become someone Reddecopp considers a prime example of the company’s vision at work. “For me, what helped was having that solid routine, and being with people who understood where I was coming from. They knew I’d struggled with drinking and drugs,” Grey says. “That’s what Richard does – he looks for people in sober living and actively working on themselves, and for me, that’s how the foundation was built.” ben@meridianhauling.ca meridianhauling.ca Need a Bin?
