MEMBER MILESTONES
For the team at Ital-Stone Design, stone 
is more than a building material. It’s 
texture. Character. Creativity. Problem-
solving. Sometimes, as one team member 
describes it, “a big art project.”
Inside Ital-Stone’s shop, CNC machines 
hum, install crews prepare for the day and 
staff move between departments with the 
kind of collaboration that only comes from 
working closely together over time. But 
alongside the technology and production 
systems is something else the company 
has worked hard to build over the past 
decade: a culture people genuinely enjoy 
being part of.
“When I come to work, it doesn’t feel like a 
job to me,” says one employee  
in a recent company video. “It feels  
like family.”
That passion and teamwork have 
helped shape Ital-Stone’s first 10 years 
in business. The company was founded 
in response to a growing need for a 
countertop and solid surface manufacturer 
that combined hands-on craftsmanship 
with technical expertise and client-focused 
service. From the beginning, Ital-Stone 
focused on modernizing the manufacturing 
process by investing in automation, CNC 
technology and advanced systems while 
still maintaining a personalized approach 
to customer relationships. 
“What sets Ital-Stone apart is our ability 
to successfully service both small 
custom residential projects and large-
volume multi-family developments 
while maintaining consistent quality, 
communication, reliability and service,” 
says Pedro Chagas, director of  
Ital-Stone Design. 
Over the years, that balance between 
precision and creativity has helped the 
company grow into a trusted partner on 
projects across Manitoba and Western 
Canada. Like many growing companies, 
the early years came with challenges 
– particularly in building systems 
that could support the company’s 
growth while maintaining quality and 
accountability throughout the process.
“A major turning point for the company 
was when our operational systems and 
team culture began to align around 
our core principle of ‘People, Passion 
and Service,’” says Chagas. “Once 
that foundation was established, it 
allowed the company to scale while still 
maintaining consistency, craftsmanship 
and client trust.” 
That philosophy is reflected throughout 
the shop floor and production process.
